Stukeley Update September 06

Dear Family and Friends

We are still busy trying to reach the people in our area. It is hard because most of the people we come into contact with have little or no interest in spiritual matters. Keep praying that we will find the key that unlocks the door.

At the last writing I told you about how the children had written a musical about the life of Joseph, well they performed it for us this month and it was really great. We had expected that the parents would come but we only had two in attendance. But God was at work in it all. One of the parents, a man in his 40s, had tried to commit suicide on Friday night because his wife had left him for a younger man she met on the internet. Peter, you remember Peter, had met this couple a year before while he was working at the “Citizens Advice Bureau.” Peter and his wife invited him to come and they picked him up and he not only attended worship but he came to Bible Study. It just so happened that the Bible Study was out of Galatians and it was about Christian relationships. The sermon was “Victorious Living” taken from the scripture about Josephs’ life. When I heard the circumstances about this man, Paul S., I was afraid that he would think we all knew his circumstances and had prepared accordingly. He was impressed with what he heard and we have made arrangements to meet once a week so he can learn more about Christian relationships and he is working hard to save his marriage. We have met and he is still coming to church on Sunday. Pray for Paul S. that he will receive the gospel and that he will be able to get his marriage back on track.

The back to school party was a great success with 19 adults and children in attendance. Our next door neighbor came with her three children and she felt comfortable enough to share with us that she was going in hospital to have a heart catherization. The day before she was to have the procedure she shared with Jepye and me that she was very frightened about the procedure and I was able to share with her since I had had the same procedure and that seemed to help her. She came through the procedure in good shape and the tests showed that the problem is not with her heart. The doctors told her that it may be gall bladder trouble. Pray for Tracey that we have had might get her to talk to us about spiritual matters and that her children might begin to attend our children’s program.

We now have two ladies and their children from the Airbase visiting our worship services. Pray that we will be able to meet their needs and that others will come.

We averaged 15 children and adults in our Sunday Morning Bible Study in September. We thank God for small victories.

The roof on the church is getting worse. We now have leaks in several areas. We have managed to collect about £1100 toward the repairs. We have a roof expert coming this week to give us an estimate. The convention is taking up a “Together We Build Offering” and we are the single recipient this year, which in itself is a PTL, we are hoping that we will get an additional £5000 toward repairs. Pray that the money we have collected will and the TWB offering will cover the cost of the roof repairs.

Please continue to pray for:
· For Tracey and Paul S. as we witness to them.
· For the TWB offering to reach its goal of € 12,000
· Our children’s program to begin to reach the parents and more children.
· That we will get more workers so we can expand our ministry.
· For the team from Emmanuel Baptist Church in Crestview that is planning to do VBS here in 2007.
· That God will show us how to penetrate the community with the Gospel.
· That God will continue to guard our health.

Serving together,
Paul and Jepye of the Stukeleys
